The May 2025 Ruby’s Pantry food distribution will take place on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 at the Sanford Center in Bemidji. Ruby’s Pantry is for anyone that is looking to extend their monthly grocery budget. For a $25 per share donation, (exact change is preferred), you will receive an abundance of groceries. You can buy as many shares as you want. There is no income or residency requirement. This is a drive thru distribution, beginning at 4 pm. Guests should bring baskets/boxes for shares to be contained in their vehicle. Pre-pay for shares is available and can be purchased at www.rubyspantry.org. Pre-payers choose a time slot to pick up their share, and skip the sometimes long wait. Pre-pay closes at 3 pm on Tuesday, May 20th. Any questions? Thursday May 22, 6p.m. at The Grain Bin in downtown Grygla, Verleen Jensen of “Liberty’s Voice”, will be presenting her annual report to the Grygla Men’s Fellowship. This year Verleen will be concentrating on the “Right to Repair” and also “Informed Consent”. Verleen does her research well and is good to remind us that we do not put our trust in a blue donkey or a red elephant, but in Christ alone!
Men of all sizes and shapes, young and old are welcome to join us for a delicious meal, a time of song and fellowship, prayer and information.

County Emergency Medical Services Celebrates EMS Week 2025
May 18-24, 2025

Welcome to EMS Week 2024 – “EMS, We’re There Because We Care”!
EMS Week is a week where the US recognizes the service of the hard-working Rescuers, EMTs, Paramedics, and Flight Medics/Nurses who give of themselves to be on the frontline of America’s healthcare and safety.

County EMS, in Fertile, MN, will be celebrating EMS Week and the culmination of the week will be our annual County EMS Open House on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 11:00am – 2:00pm where you will have the opportunity to meet our team of dedicated EMTs and paramedics who give of themselves every day to alleviate pain and suffering in our service area.

We will also offer FREE Hands-Only CPR and STOP THE BLEED training. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the National STOP THE BLEED campaign. Visit www.stopthebleed.org and click on the Get Trained link, then come to our open house for hands-on validation of your new skill! We will have a drawing for a FREE bleeding control kit ($75 value) and a FREE tourniquet ($25 value) for those who participate and get trained!

We will support the National Prescription Drug Take Back program and have a place to drop off expired and unused/unneeded medication as well as miscellaneous medical supplies (diabetic supplies, adult diapers and chucks, wound care items, etc).

We will have FREE File of Life magnetic folders for you and your loved one’s medical information to place on your refrigerator.

Through a generous donation, we will again this year offer FREE Roth ID Tags – The Roth ID Tag™ Emergency Identification System is an information tag that can be affixed to any car seat or product used by an infant, young child, or person under the care of a parent or guardian. In the event of an emergency, the tag can be removed from the item and placed like a bracelet around the user’s wrist. It gives EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement a name and number to call if there is no one around to speak on behalf of the user.

We will have a Kids’ Coloring Contest. Coloring sheets can be picked up at County EMS or participating area businesses during the week and can be dropped off during the open house any time before 2:00 pm on May 24, 2025. Kids preschool to 12th grade are encouraged to participate. Winners will be selected in different categories and published on our Facebook and Instagram pages! Prizes will include first aid kits for the home or car.

We will have a food vendor, back by popular demand: Barnyard Bites!

Again, this year there will be a BOUNCY HOUSE for the littles… but NEW THIS YEAR, we will have an inflatable Connect-Four basketball game for all ages!

We will have games, coloring and activity pages, coffee, cookies, and Kool-Aid; and learning stations.

Bemidji Area Church Musicians Recital Series – News release regarding June 4, 2025

The 38th season of the Summer Recital Series presented by the Bemidji Area Church Musicians,
(BACM) begins on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, 12:00 noon, at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church. The
recital will feature The First City Handbell Choir under the direction of Carol L. Johnson and Vicki L.
Stenerson. A variety of selections will be presented by many bell ringers.
A luncheon will follow the 30-minute concert with a price to be announced. St. Bartholomew’s
Episcopal Church is located at 1800 Irvine Ave. NW
The public is invited to attend this recital. A free-will offering will be received at the door for the
Scholarship programs of the Bemidji Area Church Musicians.
