We’re excited to share that Beltrami Electric Cooperative’s 17th Annual Multi-Vendor Indoor Garage Sale is just around the corner! This popular community event will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at our garage, located at 4111 Technology Drive NW in Bemidji.
This year’s sale will feature more than 90 booths packed with a wide range of new and gently used items—truly something for everyone! Admission is just $1 per person, and kids 12 and under are free. We’ll also have delicious food concessions, including walking tacos, baked goods, and more, so come hungry!
Most importantly, all proceeds from the event will benefit the United Way of the Bemidji Area, supporting essential programs and services that strengthen our community.
The Bemidji Full Gospel Men’s Prayer Breakfast will be held Saturday, May 3 in the First Baptist Church Community Room (1555 Paul Bunyan Dr NW). Please park in the back and use the rear entrance. Starting at 8am, there will be a light breakfast followed by a time of music and the sharing of testimony. This month’s featured speaker is Jason Riggs.

Bethany Hamilton, professional surfer and inspiration behind the 2011 film Soul Surfer, will share her story at the Chester Fritz Performing Arts Center on May 5 at 7 p.m. Presented by the Delta Gamma Foundation/Everson Family Lectureship in Values and Ethics, this event is free and open to the public. At age 13, Hamilton survived a shark attack that resulted in the loss of her left arm. Just one month later, she returned to surfing and – within two years – won her first national title. Her resilience and determination have made her a symbol of courage worldwide. Now a mother of four, Hamilton shares her message globally: “I’m devoted to inspiring and equipping you, the next generation, and your families to overcome and live an Unstoppable life.”
That message is at the heart of her 2019 documentary Unstoppable, which chronicles her journey as one of the world’s top female surfers. She also launched the Unstoppable Living online courses. Soul Surfer, Bethany’s autobiography, was a New York Times bestseller before being adapted into a major motion picture. Hamilton also authored Body and Soul, promoting healthy living, and two children’s books. Through her Beautifully Flawed Foundation, Hamilton supports amputees and youth as they overcome challenges through faith, furthering her mission to inspire lives both in and out of the water.
We are excited to announce our 2025 Raffle to raise funds for building homes in our community! Women at the Well – A Ministry for Women ages 16 and over. Thursday, May 8, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church at 6:15pm.
The evening will begin with social time over refreshments, Keynote speaker: Deb Hadley, Finding Hope through Adversity. There will be time for Private Prayer Time. Opportunity for Adoration and Confession will also be available from 8:00-9:00pm.
Deb shares with you her journey of losing two children, and how she is able to handle these tragedies with grace and humility and bring good from her hardships. She will make you cry, laugh, and give you hope for an amazing future.
Deb is from Alexandria, MN, an inspirational speaker, author of the Morning God Boost, Founder of the KT Humble Hearts Foundation, and Servant of the Lord.
Sand Hill Lake Bible Camp will by hosting their 15th Annual Mother’s Day Meal fundraiser on Mothers Day, Sunday, May 11th, from 11:00AM to 2:30PM. RSVP is requested by Wednesday, May 7.
