I got started in radio back in 1980 in Thief River Falls and almost right away got involved in the advertising sales end of things along with on-air work. I actually did a short stint in Fosston in 1985 and then jumped to a new rock station coming on the air in Grand Forks in early 1986. It was in 1986 through a series of events that I committed my life to Jesus and, with the help of several others, began the task of beginning a Christian Radio Ministry in the region. I never thought Fosston would be the location, but by Christmas of ’87 I had moved my family back to Fosston and by 1992, Pine to Prairie Broadcasting, Inc. was formed and had purchased the Fosston radio station with the purpose of increasing the power and serving the region. Q107 went on the air November 1st of 1993! The ministry and reach of the station has grown, thanks to the help of many wonderful listeners and supporters, along with the partnership of Shine the Light, Inc.
As general manager, it has been so rewarding to see the faithfulness of God, even when times have been tough. The addition of translators in several communities, the Bemidji office, the Grand Forks studio, the name change to Your QFM, and some very talented staff, has been very exciting…and I look forward to where the Lord will lead in the years to come. Currently, I enjoy traveling between Grand Forks and Bemidji and wherever else, to help oversee the ministry…and I along with my wife are residing in Bemidji, and our kids are in Minneapolis & California. We thank God for how he has used the radio station to make a difference in the region.
Hello QFM Family! I’m a Grand Forks, ND lifer. I grew up in the Lincoln Park area that was flooded out in the spring of 1997. When I was young, I aspired to be a professional archer & a professional guitarist. I did get one of those! Music has always been a huge part of my life, and picked up guitar and other instruments very young. My mom listened to all styles of music, and dad both kinds, country and western. I started working on the radio in 1985 for the free concert tickets!
Jesus saved me back in the winter of 1998, and has blessed my wife Yvonne and I with a very special 4 year old son Nicholas, who went home to be with the Lord in February of 2013. I’m thrilled to be able to share Yvonne with you every morning on Waking Up With The Joneses!
I enjoy any sport where hitting a ball happens, and fishing and hunting. Teaching and playing my guitar too! If you happen to stop in at Hope Church in Grand Forks, I’m the big guy with the shiny head playing on the worship team.

Hello! I am Vickie Meyer. I’m a North Dakota girl who moved to the land of lakes & trees 22 years ago, and have been in Bemidji now for 14 years. Through the years I have worked in various customer service roles including serving, retail, sales, service, a couple financial institutions, and now Your QFM. I grew up singing with my dad and sisters, and my dream job was becoming a radio DJ! Here I am, living the dream!
The absolute joys of my life are my husband and children. I am married to Curt, who is a Civil Engineer. We have 2 children, Aaron & Britney. Aaron is a police officer in SD, and Britney is in college majoring in Social Work. Away from work, I spend my time with family and friends. I am a live music junkie and love all kinds of concerts, festivals and the like! Curt & I love to travel and have passed that love onto our children as well. It’s getting harder now that they are older, but we travel together as often as we can.
Hello QFM family! I’m Karen Wikstrom, the station newbie! I could not have told you at any point in my life that I would be working for Christian radio but once again God’s plans were so much better than my own. I live in the northwest corner of MN with my husband Jon and we have three amazing children and four precious grandkids. I’ve been through cancer treatment and recently lost my sweet daddy to dementia. I can’t imagine going through the highs and lows of life without Jesus. He called me as a young child and has walked with me every moment since. He is my rock and my salvation. Psalm 62:5-8.
I have the privilege of representing Your QFM in the Thief River Falls and greater Grand Forks areas. I am working on building relationships with individuals and businesses and making Your QFM and God known. What a privilege! Jesus music has always been one of the biggest parts of my life. Yep, I’m one of those wierdo’s jammin and singing at the stoplight at the top of my lungs. My favorite lifetime concert was the Newboys United in Bemidji! My dream is to one day attend the Dove Awards and my goal is to serve the Lord until the day that I die.
Rick McConnell
Evenings With Rick
Rick became a follower of Jesus in his senior year in high school. A girlfriend told him about Jesus Christ and how his death on the cross paid for our sins to be forgiven so we could have eternal life. Through her encouragement and through some Christian music, he decided that he needed Jesus in his life and was born again. Today, he is married to his wife, Lisa and has a son and a daughter.
Rick started in Christian radio in 1978, less than a year out of high school. He has worked many Christian radio jobs during his career in various markets mostly in Colorado and Texas. He also has his own company in which he does voiceover work for hundreds of Christian radio stations across the U.S., Canada and in places as far away as Nairobi, Kenya. It’s very likely, as you listen to Christian stations around the country, you will hear his voice on other stations.
